How this is counted

  • Each phone number gets 1,000 free service messages a month. If you message several countries, the free messages are shared between them in proportion to your service volume, because Meta does not say which messages count first.
  • The calculator uses the list rate for every message. Meta lowers utility and authentication rates at high monthly volumes, so a very large sender pays less than shown.
  • Authentication messages sent to some countries by a business registered elsewhere use Meta’s higher authentication-international rate, which this calculator does not apply.

The audit is free. You leave with a one-page map of what we would connect first, whether or not you hire us.

This is an estimate from Meta’s published list rates. Meta’s invoice is the final figure, in the currency set on your account. Taxes, your provider’s fees, bank conversion fees and Meta Business Agent charges are not included. Authentication messages sent to some countries by a business registered elsewhere use Meta’s higher authentication-international rate, which this calculator does not apply. Messages sent in a free entry point window are free, and the calculator does not deduct them. The rate depends on the country code of the customer’s number. BottleTech is not affiliated with Meta. WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta.

How Meta charges

Meta charges for each message it delivers. Every message falls into one of five categories.

  • Marketing: offers, launches and reminders to buy.
  • Utility: order confirmations, delivery updates and appointment reminders.
  • Authentication: one-time passcodes.
  • Service: your free-form replies to a customer who wrote to you in the last 24 hours.
  • Meta Business Agent: replies written by Meta’s own AI agent, charged by the token. The calculator leaves these out.

Since 1 October 2026 Meta charges for service messages after the first 1,000 each month on each business phone number. It also charges for utility templates sent inside the 24-hour window. Meta prices Jordan, Bahrain, Lebanon and Yemen together as “Rest of Middle East”.

Common questions

Meta charges for each message it delivers to a customer. The rate depends on the message category and on the country code of the customer’s number. Messages that customers send to you are free.
Marketing messages are offers, launches and reminders to buy. Utility messages are order confirmations, delivery updates and appointment reminders. Authentication messages carry one-time passcodes. Service messages are your free-form replies to a customer who wrote to you in the last 24 hours. Each category has its own rate.
Only some of them. Each business phone number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, and Meta charges from the 1,001st. Meta also charges for utility templates sent inside the 24-hour customer service window from 1 October 2026. Messages sent in a free entry point window, which a Click to WhatsApp ad opens, are free. The calculator does not deduct those messages. Meta explains the window on its pricing page.
Meta delivers service messages inside the free 1,000 a month and stops delivering them after that. Add a payment method in Meta’s Billing Hub to keep service messages flowing.
Meta does not list Jordan as a market of its own. It prices Jordan, Bahrain, Lebanon and Yemen together as “Rest of Middle East”. Pick Jordan in the calculator and it uses that rate. The rate follows the country code of the customer’s number, so a Jordanian business that messages +966 numbers pays the Saudi rate.
Meta’s invoice is in the currency set on your messaging account. Saudi riyal, UAE dirham and US dollar are among the supported currencies, each with its own rate card, and the calculator reads that card. The Jordanian dinar is not among them. For dinars the calculator converts Meta’s USD rates at 0.709 dinar per dollar, the midpoint of the band the Central Bank of Jordan publishes. Your bank or card does the real conversion.
No. A provider that connects you to the API adds its own subscription or per-message fee on top of Meta’s charge. The calculator also leaves out taxes, bank conversion fees and Meta Business Agent, Meta’s own AI agent, which Meta charges by the token. Ask your provider which Meta charges it passes on at cost.
Meta changes prices only on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October, and gives at least one month’s notice of a rate-card change. These rates took effect on 1 October 2026. We last compared them with Meta’s rate-card files on 21 October 2026. The next date Meta can change prices is 1 January 2027.
